Fall FoodShare With the support of Giant Eagle and Girl Scouts of Western PA, the 2012 Fall FoodShare Food Drive are held at participating Giant Eagle Stores throughout the region. Volunteers hand out flyers to shoppers encouraging them to purchase items from a list provided. The variety of foods items we receive through this food drive, gives our clients choices at our food distributions through the winter months. Food is collected in the stores and transported back to our Delmont Warehouse. 2012 Fall FoodShare Info: Please help us fight hunger in our community. We are looking for individuals and groups to help us fill our open shifts for our Fall FoodShare Food Drive at local Giant Eagle Supermarkets (including Eastgate/Greensburg, Hempfield Square/Greensburg, Irwin, Allegheny Township/Leechburg, Ligonier, Penn's Crossing/Harrison City, Latrobe, New Kensington and Belle Vernon). Volunteers support this drive by handing out “most-needed” items lists to encourage shoppers to purchase a few extra items to donate. This experience is family-friendly and young children are welcome to volunteer with the adults in their family or group. Each store offers a great opportunity to give and gather food. Schedule your volunteers a couple of hours during the shifts on Saturday or Sunday during the dates below. Hours can be flexed to meet your needs. All donations stay at the store and are transported to your local food bank to distribute to those in need. Weekends Sat. Oct. 27: 10 am - 2 pm Sun. Oct. 28: 11 am - 3 pm Sat.
